








Yangon Region Government Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Region Government Ministers observed the student enrollment process for the 2025–2026 academic year at Basic Education High School No. (1) in Dagon Township, Basic Education High School No. (5), and Basic Education High School No. (6) in Botahtaung Township in the morning on May 26.
First, the Chief Minister U Soe Thein and region ministers visited Basic Education High School No. (1) in Dagon Township and Basic Education High Schools No. (5) and No. (6) in Botahtaung Township to observe and support the student enrollment process for the 2025–2026 academic year. During the visit, Deputy Director General Dr. Cho Cho Myat Aung from the Yangon Region Education Office and the respective school principals briefed them on the enrollment procedures. They also warmly greeted the students and parents who came to enroll.
Next, the Chief Minister and ministers inspected cleanliness efforts at the schools, the E-Library rooms, and the school libraries. Responsible officials explained the current status of operations. The Chief Minister instructed that efforts should focus on maintaining clean, pleasant, and beautiful school environments.
As schools are set to reopen soon, he emphasized preventive measures against dengue fever and mosquito breeding such as systematic cleaning of trash, grass, and shrubs. He also instructed that classrooms be kept clean and that desks be sturdy, and directed that more books be stocked in school libraries.
The student enrollment at basic education schools across Yangon Region for the 2025–2026 academic year has been conducting from May 22 to June 1. During enrollment, students will be provided with free printed textbooks, blank notebooks, pens, pencils, and school uniforms.
