Electricity Supply: Stringing 500-KV Power Line

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is implementing the stringing of 500 KV MeikHtila-Nay Pyi Taw-Taungoo national grid between Mile Post Nos.218 and 260 on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway.

Union Minister U Aung Than Oo on 2nd March, visited the project site and heard reports on progress of works. Over 30% of stringing works have completed in MeikHtila side, and it is targeted to complete cent percent in November this year. The Union Minister instructed for timely completion of the works and also stressed for worksite safety, meeting the set standard and to avoid wastages.

The Ministry is carrying out for stringing of 500 KV power lines as a back bone since there are many cases of system breakdown due to distribution of power through 230KV power line.
