Election Affairs: UEC Chairman inspects storage of MEVMs

Union Election Commission Chairman U Than Soe, along with the commission members and officials, on Thursday inspected the maintenance of Myanmar Electronic Voting Machines (MEVMs) used for 2025 General Election within Ayeyawady Region.

At the Region Government Office, the Commission Chairman met with the committee members from MEVM Supervisory Committee and officials. Speaking at the meeting, the Commission Chairman called on preparation measures for future elections, reviewing the experiences during the 2025 Multi-party General Election.

He also urged all related departmental officials, in collabration with the General Administrative Department and the Ministry of Immigration and Population, to ensure the accurate voting lists and called for their participation in the future elections. The Commission Chairman and party later inspected the storage of MEVMs and instructed for systematic maintenance of MEVMs preventing from natural disaster, systematic batteries storage and regular checking on MEVMs.
