Early Recovery: Opening of ASEAN-ERAT Level-2 Course

Myanmar launched the ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) Level-2 Course on Early Recovery in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, with participants from ASEAN member countries.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win stressed the importance of integrating early recovery efforts with emergency response to build more resilient communities across the ASEAN region.

He highlighted Myanmar's recovery following the 2025 Mandalay earthquake, saying timely rehabilitation was carried out through the effective use of domestic resources under the guidance of the Head of State, with support from international partners. The five-day course is being held for Aug 3 to 7. It brings together 14 ASEAN-ERAT members for training and field visits to observe Myanmar's ongoing and completed recovery projects.
