Drug Seizure: Over K8.18 billion worth stimulant tablets seized in Pyay

Over 8.18 billion kyat worth stimulant tablets were seized on 4th June, according to the report of Myanmar Police Force. Acting on a tip-off, a combined team of Anti-Narcotic Task Force searched the vehicles near Toll Gate on Pyay-Aung Lan Road.

They discovered 500,000 stimulant tablets while transferring from the Toyota Prado to I-Zone vehicle, and arrested four suspects. The investigation led to the arrest of one more suspects in Kyaung Gyi Oh Tan Ward in Pyay Township, along with over 420,000 stimulant tablets.

Further interrogation revealed more seizures of stimulant tablets with the arrest of four more suspects in Moe Kyo Pyit Village of Kyone Pyaw Township of Ayeyawady Region and Swe Taw City in Mingalardon Township of Yangon Region on June 6th and 7th respectively.

According to their confessions, the seized drugs were transp0rted from Wan Hai of Kyay Thee Township of Shan State to Rakhine State. These drugs were stored in Pyay before transporting to the destination via Mandalay and Yangon. The drug trafficker in Rakhine is known as Htin Htin Kyaw @ Rakhine, and this drug gang was taking action under the law.
