Myanmar Police Force seized more than 1.56 million stimulant tablets worth about 2.94 billion kyats during anti-drug operations in Kalay and Mandalay.

The seizure in Kalay took place on July 13, where police found 600,000 stimulant tablets in a vehicle. Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of several suspects and the discovery of another 960,000 tablets at a house in Mandalay on July 17.

In total, seven suspects were arrested, while two alleged key suspects remain at large. Police said the suspects have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. Authorities are also taking action under the Anti-Money Laundering Law to seize assets believed to be linked to drug trafficking. Investigations are continuing.
