Myanmar has embraced the fight against narcotics as a national duty, actively and continuously conducting operations to prevent and suppress the production and illegal trafficking of drugs nationwide. On the night of April 20, a 12-wheel truck transporting narcotics concealed among commercial goods was intercepted and seized at the Nay Min Yaung Toll Gate in Loilem, Shan State (South).

While a combined team, including members of the security forces, was conducting security and drug interdiction duties at the Nay Min Yaung Toll Gate in Ward (2), Loilem, they signaled a green Nissan Diesel 12-wheel truck (License Plate: MDY-20/4H-----) to stop for inspection at approximately 8:55 PM. The vehicle was traveling from Loilem toward Taunggyi, driven by Phyo Wai Tun with Khant Kyaw Htet as the conductor.

Upon inspection, the team discovered 48 yellow woven bags hidden under sacks of yellow corn. These bags contained white crystalline ICE (Methamphetamine) packed in packaging featuring Chinese characters and the "GUAN YIN WANG" label. The seizure totaled approximately 1,200 kilograms of ICE, with an estimated value of 16.8 billion Kyats.

The suspects, the seized narcotics, and the vehicle have been handed over to the relevant departments for further legal action in accordance with official procedures, it’s reported.
