Drug Destroying: Seized Drug & Related Products Destroyed In Kutkai

As the gesture of hailing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the destroying of seized drugs, chemical precursors and related materials was conducted at the ground near Asia World Toll Gate in Kutkai Township of Northern Shan State on 23rd of June 2020.

The destroying procedures made in line with the instructions regarding Covid-19 preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports. Officials from Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control, regional military commands from  Kutkai Township and military officials, Departmental officials from Muse District of Northern Shan State, Muse District Police Chief and officials from regional police stations, members of Police Force for Drug Abuse Control  and regional ethic people attended the occasion.

U Kyaw Thu Zaw, Deputy State Administrator of Northern Shan State gave the opening remarks and Muse District Police Chief explained about destroying of seized drugs and precursor chemicals and related materials.

The attendees observed those seized drugs and precursor chemicals and related materials and afterwards, seized drugs were destroyed by burying in the ground and related materials were destroyed by using vehicle.

The destroyed 47 kinds of seized drugs and 50 kinds of related materials worth about 3.379 billion kyats equivalent to over 2.3 million USD were sized during joint military cooperation led by Tatmaddaw columns and Myanmar Police Force for regional stability and Rule of Law at Lwel Khan Region, Kutkai Township of Northern Shan State on early 2020.
