DR Congo's biggest Ebola treatment centre set to open

The UN stated that new Ebola treatment centre in Bunia, northeast of Democratic Republic of Congo, set to be the country's biggest, will soon be opened this week.

The current outbreak occurred in the northeastern Ituri province, bordering South Sudan and Uganda. The current Ebola outbreak is intensifying at an "exceptional" pace, the WHO said on August 1st, calling for a significant scaling-up of the health response. As of July 30th, a total of 3,605 confirmed cases, including 1,587 deaths, had been reported in the DRC from the current outbreak.
