Donation of rice and cooking oil: MoST UM accepted the donation

Due to the powerful Mandalay earthquake that struck Myanmar, the Ministry of Science and Technology, along with affected university, college, and school staff and faculty in the earthquake-hit regions, suffered losses and damages.

In the morning on May 12, Chairman of the Myanmar Rice Federation U Ye Min Aung, donated rice and cooking oil supplies to support the affected teachers and staffs. A total of 449 bags of rice, worth 46.3 million kyats, and cooking oil worth 28.7 million kyats, amounting to a combined total of 75 million kyats, were handed over to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw received the donation, expressed his gratitude, and presented a certificate of honor in return. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Zeya, directors-general, and officials from the Ministry, as well as representatives from the Myanmar Rice Federation.
