In order to write and compile the history of Myanmar, a discussion was held on Wednesday on primate fossil research findings and Myanmar Stone Age research evidence. In this discussion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, Union Minister U Ko Ko highlighted the 4 previous discussions on primate fossil and Stone Age research evidence.

This discussion is to mutually discuss, re-examine, review, coordinate and confirm the information obtained from the previous discussions by experts in the respective sectors. He also expressed his belief that by combining the evidence of the newly discovered data from this discussion, and with strong evidence from field research, excavation and research findings, a more complete and correct history of hominin fossils in Myanmar can be confirmed.

It is necessary to make the public aware of the changes in the chain of cultural processes in Myanmar. The Union Minister also said that the new discoveries on the Middle Stone Age should be made known and accepted by international scholars by holding an international symposium.

And, discussions were made on the existence of Myanmar soil, history of the discovery of Pondaung primate fossils, Ayeyawaddy primate discovery and evidence, Stone Age of Myanmar and Middle Stone Age. In conclusion, the Union Minister stressed that doing archeological research is uncovering the true history of a country and is a national responsibility.
