Healthcare Sector: Meeting of Myanmar Private Hospitals’ Association

Union Minister for Health Dr. ThetKhaing Win on Wednesday virtually addressed the anniversary meeting of the Myanmar Private Hospitals’ Association.

In his address, the Union Minister highlighted the guidance of the Prime Minister to improve local health care activities as citizens need to spend a lot of money abroad to receive health care Services. It is necessary for private hospitals to provide international level health care Services.

The ministry is taking strict action to develop the private health industry in accordance with the international level in a disciplined manner. Currently, 295 private hospitals have been granted license, and the ministry will urge all these hospitals to become members of the Myanmar Private Hospitals’ Association.

The Union Minister also urged the private hospitals to buy and use drugs and medical equipment manufactured by domestic private pharmaceutical factories. As the Ministry of Health, it makes efforts to provide continuous access to important and essential medicines in the market and to ensure price stability and the quality is met.

The Union Minister expressed his belief that expressed his belief that the private hospitals will provide quality health care at a fair cost. This event also included annual reports and the 15-member central executive committee selection for 2024-2026.
