Disaster Management: Relief measures in quake-hit areas

Magway Region Natural Disaster Management Committee held its work coordination meeting on 2nd May.

Chief Minister U Tint Lwin attended the meeting and discussed plans for relief measures for quake-hit areas through coordination among the concerned organizations. Attendees reported on relief and rehabilitation works for the affected communities.

Magway Region made contribution for quake-hit areas by donating cash and foodstuff and sending rescue and medical team, providing catering services and other basic needs. The region also suffered the impact of earthquake, destroying residential buildings, offices, schools, religious sites, and various infrastructures  including the ancient museum, amounting to over 787 million kyat loss.
