






Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, accompanied by concerned officials, visited the silt dredging and embankment construction activities in Nant Khin Creek near Keng Fong village in Keng Tung Township on May 15.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of completing the work efficiently and on schedule. The Nant Khin Creek dredging and embankment project began on March 23 this year, covering 9,500 feet with 3.5 feet average depth.
The Chief Minister and party then inspected road safety measures on the Meiktila–Taunggyi–Keng Tung–Tachileik Road and made necessary arrangements. They later attended a paddy seed distribution ceremony at the Mong Pyin General Administration Department.
The Chief Minister said the Shan State government is supporting Typhoon Yagi-affected farmers with monsoon paddy seeds , solar-powered irrigation and efforts to boost yields and income. Various seed supplies were then distributed to farmers in seven village tracts. One of the local farmers later gave words of thanks, followed by reports on drinking water access issues and coordination to address the needs.
They heard reports on widening 29 sections of the Takaw–Mong Pyin Road to 34 feet at the Mong Pyin Construction Department. The Chief Minister stressed building to standard, preventing erosion and avoiding road disruption. They then inspected the project site and drainage construction.
