Development Works: Library upgrade, teaching training and MSME meeting

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and wife who is the Patron of the State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, along with concerned officials inspected ongoing library upgrade works in Sittwe Township on 2nd May.

They visited TharKi ManDaing Library at Jibbet Monastery as well as the libraries in Ywagyi Taung and Sinku Lan Wards. They reviewed reports on the facilities, toured the libraries and presented books donated by the Rakhine State Government.

Food supplies were also provided to locals and children reading at the libraries. They then proceeded to No. 1 Basic Education High School, and observed the Diploma in Education and Pedagogy course and capacity-building training for all school levels.

The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the peaceful learning environment and highlighted government support, including basic food supplies and free healthcare for retired civil servants. He encouraged teachers to coordinate on any needs and later met with the trainers.

In the afternoon, the Chief Minister attended a work coordination meeting on the MSMEs development at the Rakhine State Government Office. The Chief Minister emphasized the Head of State’s priority on MSME growth and agriculture-based industries during the meeting.

He called for action on regional development, vocational training and self-employment to aid displaced communities. Relevant departments were instructed to conduct field inspections and provide timely support to MSMEs, with a push for collaboration to boost productivity in agriculture, livestock, manufacturing and MSME businesses. This was followed by the sector-wise reports from departmental officials and suggestions from state government members and MSME entrepreneurs.
