As Thailand tries to come to terms with the worst mass killing in its history, the country's deputy prime minister visited a hospital in NongbuaLamphu province, early Friday, where the injured are being treated.

Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, AnutinCharnvirakul spent some time meeting and comforting family members as they awaited news of their loved ones.

A former police officer facing a drug charge burst into a daycare center in UthaiSawan, Thursday, and killed 36 people, mostly children. The assailant, who was fired earlier this year, took his own life after killing his wife and child at home.

The attack took place in one of the country's poorest regions.
