







A delegation led by U Aung Naing Thu, Chief Minister of Yangon Region, and U Myo Aung, Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, attended the ASEAN City Leaders Conference, held in conjunction with the ASEAN Future Forum 2026, which took place from June 8 to June 10, 2026, in Hanoi, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The opening ceremony of the ASEAN City Leaders Conference was held on June 8, at 13:30 local time, in Halls 2 and 3 on the first floor of the Meliá Hanoi Hotel. The ceremony was opened by Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.
The conference took place at the Grand Ballroom of the Meliá Hanoi Hotel in Hanoi. It was attended by approximately 350 domestic and international delegates, including Chief Ministers, mayors, governors, leaders, experts, and representatives from international organizations from regional cities, as well as invited foreign entrepreneurs and representatives from business associations.
On June 8, at 8:30 local time, the Myanmar delegation paid a courtesy call on senior leaders of Vietnam, including the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which was held in Function Rooms 6 and 7 on the second floor of the Meliá Hanoi Hotel.
On June 9, at 15:15 local time, they held a courtesy call with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam in the hall of the National Assembly building. Additionally, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, shared the outcomes of the ASEAN Future Forum 2026, which was held under the theme of "Peace, Prosperity, and a People-Centered Society."
The Myanmar delegation departed from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam, on MAI flight at 20:55 local time on June 10. They arrived back at Yangon International Airport at 22:55 Myanmar standard time, where they were greeted by members of the Yangon Region Government and relevant officials, it’s reported.
