A mosaic from the Roman period, small sarcophagi dating back to the 2nd century BC and a deep cistern were found during the excavations. The same area saw the meeting of art, death and life. Excavations in the ancient city of Syedra have opened the door to the past. Historical artefacts from the Roman and Late Roman periods were unearthed.

The mosaics and small sarcophagi reflect the aesthetics and culture of the Roman period. An underground cistern was unearthed just below the mosaic floor. Measuring 5 metres in height and 3 metres in width, the cistern is set to undergo further excavation.

Conservation work is currently ongoing in this area. In addition, the remains of an olive oil factory dating back 2,000 years were unearthed. The excavation team will reactivate the wooden mechanism.
