






Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin on Sunday met with the staff from the departments and universities under the ministry in Mandalay.
During the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted the extensive damages of powerful earthquake, and stressed the need to overcome the challenges with strong resilience. He also encouraged the staff and provided cash assistance for more than 580 staff from Mandalay and Sagaing Regions.
They then visited Mandalay Hill to oversee the repair works of damaged religious edifices, including Shwe Thein Taw and Sanda Mukhi Pagodas. They then viewed the damages of northern stairways and Lawka Marazein Maha Nanda Twin Lakes and heard reports on repair plan.
The Union Minister and party later visited the Mway Gyi Hna Kaung Pagoda, and instructed to carry out the renovation works through coordination with the engineering experts for long term durability. He also made cash donation for renovation works.
