Croatia fans in Qatar celebrate defeat of Brazil

Croatian fans celebrated outside the stadium in Doha on Friday after Croatia beat Brazil in the FIFA 2022 World Cup. Croatian footballer Luka Modric and his teammates made it into the semifinals at soccer’s biggest tournament, beating Brazil 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw through extra time.

Brazilian fans, hoping to win the competition outright, had to come to terms with the defeat. The Croatia team reached the World Cup final four years ago but lost to France. Their determination sees them take one step closer to possibly winning the trophy.
