COVID-19 Vaccine Donation: Nippon Foundation Donates 1 Million Covaxin Vaccine

In addition to purchase, Myanmar has been receiving COVID-19 vaccines donated by friendly countries and associations.

On the 23rd of January, another 1 million doses of Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine donated by the Nippon Foundation of Japan to Myanmar through the Myanmar Red Cross Society arrived at Yangon International Airport. The first 1 million doses of Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine donated by the Nippon Foundation arrived on the 9th of January.

The Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states. Till the 22nd of January, in Myanmar, 18.25 million people received the full doses of COVID-19 vaccines and 3.49 million people received the 1st dose of the vaccines, the Ministry reported.
