Covid-19 Update: One New Covid-19 Case Reported At 8:00 A.M. On 8th Of June

Ministry of Health and Sports at 8:00 a.m. on Monday reported one new COVID-19 case after testing 897 lab specimens as the second batch.

The new confirmed patient is a returnee from Italy. He is a resident of Thingangyun Township of Yangon Region. COVID-19 cases in Myanmar have now reached 243 with 6 deaths. While 156 patients have recovered from the disease, 136 of them have been discharged from the hospitals and put under quarantine.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, Brazil, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, India, Spain, Italy, Peru, Germany, Islamist Republic of Iran Turkey and France according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 3:47pm CEST, 7th June 2020, there have been over 6.7 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 397,388 deaths, reported to WHO.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
