COVID-19 Update: 1,596 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On March 5

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 1,596 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Saturday after testing 24,838 patients within 24 hours. 3 patients have died due to the disease while 1,809 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 597,417 with 19,386 deaths and 545,865 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
