COVID-19 Update: 144 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On January 22

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 144 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Saturday after testing 11,673 patients within 24 hours. 1 COVID-19 positive patient has died while 127 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 533,959 with 19,309 deaths and 512,063 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
