
The Ministry of Health reported 143 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 26,826 lab specimens within 24 hours.
No COVID-19 positive patient has died while 141 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 536,536 with 513,557 COVID-19 patients discharged from the hospitals. As there is no new death of COVID-19 positive patient, the total death toll is 19,310 so far. COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease.
Up to 1st February, 2022, over 22.21 million people have been vaccinated.
Of them, over 18.97 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 3.24 million people once. Therefore, a total of 41.19 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated.
The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 74.50 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, France, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, Italy, Germany and Spain according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 7:15 p.m. Central European Time on February 2, 2022, there have been over 380.32 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 5.68 million deaths, reported to WHO.
