COVID-19 Surveillance: MoHs: No Confirmed Cases Found Till 19th March

The Ministry of Health and Sports issued a news release on surveillance of COVID-19 disease at 8:00 pm on 19th March.

It stated that the Ministry is continuously conducting surveillance on COVID-19 acute respiratory disease at international entry/exit gates, in hospital-based and community-based processes, and in collaboration with private hospitals.

There are 18 new quarantined patients under surveillance between 6 pm of 18 March and 6 pm of 19 March.

According to the lab result of the National Health Laboratory (Yangon) as of 19th March at 7:00 pm, out of the patients under the surveillance at the respective hospitals, the lab results of 13 patients were found with no Coronavirus disease.

As of 6 pm, 19th March, 16 quarantined patients awaiting their lab test results are receiving medical care at their respective hospitals.

Although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar till 19th March, surveillance activities are actively in progress.

COVID-19 is currently spread across neighbouring China and 160 countries around the world.

WHO recently declared that the virus is pandemic and the general public is advised to closely follow the healthcare guidelines published by the Ministry of Health and Sports.
