COVID-19 Report: 166 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on June 12

Ministry of Health and Sports reported 166 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Saturday after testing 3,413 lab specimens within 24 hours.

2 COVID-19 positive patients lost their lives due to the disease while 65 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

COVID-19 confirmed cases in Myanmar have reached 145,230 with 3,241 deaths and, 132,830 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The public’s cooperation is requested to address wearing mask systematically when it comes to going outside, frequent washing hands and social distancing to control the spreading of COVID-19, MOHS instructions for office/department staff and everybody and every family’s active cooperation as the COVID-19 preventive measures including giving notice and reminding each other and family plan.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Turkey, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, Italy, Argentina and Spain, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 3:33 pm CEST, 12 June 2021, there have been over 174 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 3.7 million deaths, reported to WHO.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
