COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 21st and 22nd of January, residents in 10 townships in northern Shan State, 4 townships in eastern Shan State, 13 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 1 township in Tanintharyi Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 3 townships in Rakhine State, 1 township in Sagaing Region, 7 districts in Mandalay Region and 1 township in Bagon Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
