COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 4th, 5th and 6th of March, residents in 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 2 townships in Rakhine State, 1 township in Bago Region, 2 townships in southern Shan State, 2 townships in northern Shan State and one township in Tanintharyi Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
