
The Ministry of Health and Sports said there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections in Myanmar, Tuesday.
Thirty-five people suspected of being infected with the virus are being monitored, while two more are undergoing treatment, it said. The figures were recorded between 31 January and 18 February.
Of the total suspected patients, 28 tested negative for the virus, while the laboratory results for nine are awaited from Thailand. Of the 37 patients, 35 had traveled to China, while two had no record of visiting China. All nine patients who are being treated in isolated wards are in good condition, said the ministry.
Coronavirus disease is now affecting 26 countries including the People’s Republic of China. According to the data on COVID-19 reported by the World Health Organization as of 18th February, there are 73,332 confirmed diseases globally. In China, there are 72,528 confirmed cases and 1,870 deaths.
The report also said that there are 804 confirmed cases in 25 countries and 3 deaths outside of China.
