COVID-19: MoHs: No Confirmed Case In Myanmar As Of 17th March

The Ministry of Health and Sports issused news release on COVID 19 on Tuesday.

It stated that according to the situation report of the World Health Organization as of 16th March, the coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 152 countries around the world and there were 167,511 confirmed case and 6,606 deaths globally. The globally death rate is 3.9 %.

In China, there were 81,077 confirmed cases and 3,218 deaths.

Outside of China, there were 86,438 confirmed cases and 3,388 deaths.

In regard with COVID-19 disease in Myanmar from 31st January to 17th March, 2020 at 4:00 pm, there were 142 Persons Under Investigation-PUI and 2 suspected patients, altogether 144.

Out of them, 135 patients were found with no COVID-19 disease and 9 are laboratory result pending. There were 96 who have been discharged from the hospital.

The situation of PUI and suspected cases in the respective hospitals of Regions and States from 31st January to 17th March are 54 in Yangon Region, 23 in Shan State, 29 in Mandalay Region and 33 in other Regions and States, altogether, 144.
