Coordination meeting: Water accessibility during hot and dry season discussed

The National Level Water Resources Committee formed a work committee for the water accessibility during the period of water shortage on 31st January, 2023 for the accessibility of agricultural irrigation and drinking water at the drought zones in central part of Myanmar during the hot and dry season.

The coordination meeting of work committee for the water accessibility during the period of water shortage led by the work committee chairman deputy minister for transport and communications was held at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Nay Pyi Taw on February 7.

At the meeting, the deputy minister said the head of state gave a guidance of short and long terms tasks to carry out for the water accessibility at the regions where water shortages occur during the hot and dry season. For the accessibility of agricultural irrigation and drinking water at the drought zones in central part of Myanmar during the hot and dry season, the work plans have been drawn with the coordination of relevant regional authorities.

At the meeting, region level work committees and members discussed to pick up the pilot projects which are substantive and capable instantly for the availability of water during the hot and dry season.
