




A work coordination meeting regarding with the educational grants being provided by the government was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 6th March.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Union Minister for Cooperative and Rural development, Union Minister for Science and Technology, Union Minister for Health, Union Minister for Sport and Youth Affairs and responsible officials from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Planning and Finance.
In his opening remark, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Transport and Communication Admiral Tin Aung San said the educational grants under the education sector is a long term expenditure from the state budget fund, scholarship award policy which is provided as per the sectors such as higher education, basic education , technology and vocational sector among relevant ministries which are working the issue of educational grants, selection and verification procedures in accordance with the situations of ministries and necessary conditions.
After that, the meeting was concluded after the union ministers, deputy ministers and responsible officials discussed about the situation of universities, Degree College, basic education and training schools where scholarship is being provided, policy and procedures that should be consistent and determination of stipend amount and rate that should be verified and selected.
