Coordination Meeting: Implementation of Pan Khin Project (2) discussed

The coordination meeting on the Pan Khin Project (2) implementing by the Ministry of Immigration and Population and the enumeration on the ground for the correct and accurate population list was held at the Ministry, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on December 2nd with the attendance of Union Minister U Myint Kyaing, deputy ministers U Htay Hlaing and Dr. Myo Thant, senior officials and the head officers from the regions and states.

In his remark, the Union Minister U Myint Kyaing clarified the Pan Khin Project which is a state project was implemented for 18 months from 3rd May, 2021 to 3rd November, 2022 for every citizen to bear a suitable card in line with the qualification to be a citizen and every eligible citizen to be able to vote in the elections to be held in the future and issued CSC for over 3.4 million population.

Apart from some townships including townships in “Wa” Special Region, over 95% of target can be implemented. The Pan Khin Project (2) from 1st August, 2022 to December 31st, 2023 is being implemented including some townships left and all regions and states.

The Union Minister added according to the guidance of the State Administration Council, the on-ground enumeration will be carried out by leading of the MoIP with relevant departments for having the correct and accurate population list.

To implement the task, on-ground enumeration supervising central committee, the levels of supervising committees including Union Territory (Nay Pyi Taw), regions and states, district, township, ward/village and working groups will be formed and the door to door enumeration will be carried out etc.

Next, the director general U Htein Win of the Department of National Registration and Citizenship, deputy director general Dr. Khine Khine Soe of the Department of Population clarified the formation of the level s of working groups for the on-ground enumeration to have correct and accurate population list, the training plans for the working groups regarding on-ground enumeration and the deputy ministers supplemented regarding the giving training course, work requirements, solutions for the challenges that may encounter.

Then, the head officers from the regions and states clarified the work related matters. In responding to the clarifications, the Union Minister coordinated necessaries and gave a speech of conclusion.
