Coordination meeting: Bago Region Regional Tourism Working Committee held meeting

The coordination meeting of Bago Region Regional Tourism Working Committee was held at the meeting room of the Bago Region Government Office on 22nd February.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of Bago Region Regional Tourism Working Committee Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win said that for the development of tourism industry in the region, Pyu Ancient City armature bicycle riding festival with over 350 athletes was held with the collaboration of the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism during January this year. 

The region government is putting efforts to develop new destinations of nature based, region based and community based tourism.

Along with the development of regional tourism industry, the hotel industry, food industry and transportation industry will develop and the job opportunities will be created.

Next, the chief officer of Bago Region Hotel and Tourism Department clarified the renewal of 7guest houses and one upgrading to the hotel, the committee members gave necessary suggestions and the chief minister made decision in line with the law.

 There were 2272 rooms of 77 hotels and guest houses in Bago Region before February, 2021 and now there have been 2599 rooms of 88 hotels and guest houses. So, 327 rooms of 11 hotels and guest houses have increased, it’s reported.
