Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Min Naung, accompanied by officials, conducted a field inspection on the morning of June 18 at the Yezin Fishery Station in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, to observe the production of fish fry.

He provided guidance to the responsible officials on exceeding the annual fish fry production targets, promoting regional aquaculture development, and carrying out renovation work at the Yezin Fishery Station in compliance with established standards.

Afterward, the Union Minister made a field inspection along the Mapaikkal Creek and the downstream areas of Thethtininn Village in Zeyathiri Township, where efforts are being undertaken to mitigate flooding during the monsoon season and ensure proper water flow in the drainage channels.

He discussed necessary operational measures with the officials in charge. Subsequently, the Union Minister arrived at the Paunglaung Dam and inspected the water storage levels. He advised the responsible officials to take measures to prevent flooding caused by extreme weather events that may occur this year, while also ensuring that water storage in dams, hydropower generation, and agricultural water supply are not adversely affected by drought or erratic rainfall. He emphasized the need for real-time monitoring and management of weather conditions and rainfall patterns within the catchment areas.
