







A commemoration reception in honour of the 75th Diamond Jubilee anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Myanmar and Russia took place in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.
Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win attended the reception. Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar Dr. Nikolai Listopadov extended greetings, followed by the speech, delivered by the Vice Senior General.
He said the diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Russia was established on 18th February 1948, and the relations between the two countries have been strengthening more than ever. He expressed that Myanmar valued the support of Russia for Myanmar in the international arena constantly.
He added that the cooperation in various sectors between the two countries could enhance the existing friendship, and will increase cooperation between the two countries and the two people as well. He continued that arrangements are being made for opening of Myanmar Consulate Offices in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
Opening of new Consulate Offices will support for further strengthening of bilateral friendship and cooperation. He wished for long term existence of bilateral friendly relations, and development and prosperity of Russia and its people. The Vice Senior General and the Ambassador later cut the commemorative cake, and posed for a documentary photo together with the attendees. They later enjoyed the entertainments by the Russia dance troupes.
