Colombia's new president vows to 'combat all criminal structures'

Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella vowed to restore security and target criminal organizations in his first speech as president. He instructed the military and police to combat criminal structures and pledged to eradicate illegal coca crops, which he linked to drug trafficking, displacement and violence. He also said his government would uphold democratic rules and protect the country’s political stability.
