





Speaking of coffee industry in Myanmar, if the plantation can be expended, coffee production rate can be raised up to 20,000 tons in 2030 from the current production rate of 15,000 tons.
Arabica makes up around 70 percent of the global coffee trade while Robusta making up the remaining 30 percent. In Myanmar, if the coffee is planted properly, it will be possible to pick coffee as a business for 20 years.
In the country, there are two types of coffee plantation - low land coffee plantation and high land coffee plantation. Every year, Myanmar exports about 8,000 tons of coffee to foreign markets.
Myanmar’s quality coffee fetches 6,200 to 8,200 USD for a ton. Myanmar’s coffee markets have been placed in the US, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and China.
To produce and cultivate quality coffee in Myanmar, saplings and technologies are being provided to the State-owned Coffee Farm and private coffee farms.
