Clean-Up Efforts : Clearing tasks at the pagoda, library and museum

Clean-up efforts are underway at the damaged areas of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw due to the severe earthquake that struck on March 28. 

On Friday, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin visited the pagoda to oversee the clearing the damages on the pagoda platform, inside the cave and at the repository of the Sutaung Pyae Pagoda. They also visited the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw) and inspected the clearing works.

Due to the earthquake, Buildings A, B and C of the National Library were damaged, and clean-up measures are being carried out by the Tatmadawmen. They then visited the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) where the Tatmadawmen are carrying out the clearing of debris. The quake left damages at the Buildings A, B, C and D of the museum.
