










A presentation on proposed plans for waste collection and landfill management operations within Pathein Township was held June 14 afternoon at Meeting Hall (1) of the Region Government Office. The event was attended by Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, members of the region government, departmental officials, and representatives of the company.
First, a company representative presented plans regarding waste segregation, waste-to-energy production, compost production from waste, public awareness and educational activities, environmental conservation and protection measures, and ward-based waste collection programs. Following discussions and presentations by region ministers and relevant departments, the Chief Minister stated that “It is necessary to study and understand the waste collection systems currently being implemented by the municipal authorities. We would like a more detailed presentation to be submitted to ensure that waste collection operations can be carried out systematically and effectively.”
The meeting then continued with a presentation by Rosewood Capital Company Limited regarding its proposed projects in Pathein, including a Waste-to-Energy initiative and the manufacturing of electric buses and commercial vehicles.
The company explained plans related to electricity generation from municipal waste, an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing project, the types of vehicles to be produced in future expansions, land and factory construction requirements, and the potential benefits to the region. After listening to discussions and presentations from region ministers and relevant departments, the Chief Minister delivered the remarks, coordinated and facilitated the necessary arrangements for the proposed projects, it’s reported.
