China students attend college entrance exam

A total of 11.93 million students attended China's college entrance exams this year which started on Tuesday.Across China, 330,000 exam sites have been set up with 1.02 million invigilators and other personnel on duty to ensure the exam runs smoothly.

A day before the exam, test-takers had to submit their negative PCR test result within 48 hours, green health code, and 14-day travel history, to avoid a bottleneck.Some special exam sites have even been set up at hospitals and quarantine sites to ensure that all students, even those testing positive for COVID-19, can sit their exam. The exam, known as Gaokao, is a critical stage in young students' lives in China.
