Child Labor Eradication Program: Certificates awarding ceremony was held at Skills Traning Center

The opening ceremony of the air-conditioning installation course  No 1/2023 and certificate awarding ceremony of the electrical devices installation course No1/2023 and welding course No1/2023 was held on 7 March at the Skills Training Center in Yakin Township.

Vocational training courses were provided free of charge at Yakin Skills Training School to eradicate the child labors in Myanmar and to create job opportunities for the youth. 

Training officer, Skills Training Center, Kaung Htet, said " In 2023-24 FY, We targeted to expand the computer course in addition to the electrical courses. At the ceremony, we awarded first, second and third prizes for both electrical course and welding course. Besides, we presented the outstanding and consolation prizes. This year we turned out 281 trainees from our school."

Yangon Region Government Ethnic Affairs minister U Saw Jett Kaw Htoo and the officials from the Department of Labor attended the ceremony and awarded the course completion certificates.

Trannies , Welding course, said " I came from Mandalay. The instructors tought us systematically about welding skills. That certificate really facilitates us to get a job at the workshops. I am very happy for opening that training course. As young people should join the course and there is no worry for the training fee. We can gain job opportunities through the training course. Wherever we are, we can stand on our own feet with that carrier."

Trannies, Electrical installation course, said " We came from Tarmwe Township in Yangon. We all won first, second and third prizes in the electrical installation course. The instructors taught us both theoretically and practically .They taught us very systematically, so we gained enough skills to do job in outside field. Those certificates are very useful because those are awarded by the training center opened by the government."

Trannies, Air-Conditioning installation course, said " I came from Dagon Myothit (North). I am studying at air-con installation course. By attending such kinds of courses, I believe we can gain more job opportunities. We gain benefits by attending the courses rather than without doing anything."

124 trainees attended the opening ceremony of air-con installation, electrical installation and welding courses and the applied computer courses in free of charge will be opened very soon, it is learnt.
