Ceremony of Signing MoU: MONREC UM attended the ceremony

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint organization of the Myanmar Gems Exhibition to be held at the Kyet Gaung Border Trade Zone in Ruili City, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Yunnan Provincial Government of the People's Republic of China, took place on February 24th, 2026, at the Haigeng Garden meeting hall in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China.

Prior to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, a bilateral meeting was held. The Union Minister stated that both sides will cooperate in accordance with the MoU to further enhance bilateral trade and economic relations, increase collaboration in the gems trade, facilitate cultural exchange, and prevent illegal trafficking of jade and gems. He noted that cooperation also exists and will continue in the forestry and environmental conservation sectors. He expressed gratitude to the Government of the People's Republic of China and all those involved in the successful signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for jointly organizing the Myanmar Gems Exhibition.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the Deputy Governor of Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China, it’s reported.
