Celebration in Nay Pyi Taw: Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners’ Day

A ceremony to mark Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners’ Day, which falls on the full moon day of Tabaung, was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the event, and delivered the opening speech. He said the day honors the efforts and contributions of traditional medicine practitioners who have cared for the health of the people.

He highlighted the importance of preserving traditional medical knowledge, passing it on to younger generations, promoting research, and integrating traditional medicine with modern healthcare to strengthen the public health system. Officials explained the background and significance of celebrating the day. During the ceremony, senior traditional medicine practitioners were honored with gifts, and awards were presented to outstanding practitioners and trainees.
