This year, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar's capital, is gearing up for an extraordinary celebration of the traditional Thingyan water festival.

The city's preparations are in full swing, with an array of entertainment programs featuring Korean K-Pop artists, renowned performers, and international pavilions including one from the Russian Embassy and the Myanmar-China Friendship Association.

The festivities will be centered around the Nay Pyi Taw Mayor Pandal and Nay Pyi Taw Splash Walk, where dance troupes are rehearsing tirelessly to ensure a joyous celebration. The Nay Pyi Taw Splash Walk, stretching from the Mayor Maha Thingyan Pavilion to the intersection of Sipin guesthouse Road, promises to bring happiness to government employees and citizens alike on a grand scale.

With 26 Thingyan pavilions, including Ethnic Thingyan, Saduthitha Thingyan, Ministries’ Thingyan, and Youths’ Thingyan, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. The Russia-Myanmar Friendship Association Pavilion will showcase performances by Russian youth artists, adding an international flair to the festivities.

Additionally, the China-Myanmar-India Friendship Pavilion, built to international standards, will host a food donation event, further fostering camaraderie among nations. The festival will be divided into two zones. Zone 1 will feature ethnic food donation stations and designated areas for water play, reflecting the diverse cultures of Myanmar's ethnic groups.

Zone 2 will cater to young people and children, offering attractions such as an international water slide, foam party, inflatable tanks, slides, and DJ performances. The Thingyan festival symbolizes unity and friendship among the people of Myanmar and the global community at large. It is a time of joyous celebration, where individuals come together to revel in the spirit of togetherness and camaraderie.
