Cash For Work: Project Will Be Implemented In 250 Villages Of Sagaing Region

The cash for work project will be implemented in 250 villages of 35 townships in Sagaing Region in 2019-2020 fiscal year, according to the Department of Rural Development in the Region.

The program aims to get income for rural people through cash for work by doing production process of their village themselves and to develop basic infrastructures.

As the pilot project, the program is being carried out in Htan Bin Hla village in Monywa Township, the Head of Department of Rural Development in Sagaing Region said.

The villages will be selected for cash for work project with the criteria that has the most needy index issued by the village-tract based on the population list, the village affected by the Covid-19, a large numbers of workers who lost their jobs caused by COVID-19 or their income, a huge numbers of returnees and migrant workers, ensuring smooth transportation and peace and regional security and energetic efforts for implementing the project.
