Cai Qi commends "epidemic prevention" at Beijing Winter Games

Beijing Winter Games organizers said nearly 1.8 million tests were conducted during the Games period, with no reports of cross infections between inbound participants and local staff during the Games.

Cai Qi, President of the Beijing 2022 Organizing Committee said "Practice has proved that our epidemic prevention and control is successful". Games participants are required to take daily coronavirus tests.

During the period, 179 tests returned positive, but organizers said there were no cross infections. The Beijing Winter Games closes on Sunday with a ceremony at 8pm local time.
