The bus lines are being operated as regular in Mong Pyat of the Eastern Shan State and they have been suspended because of COVID-19 pandemic before.

During the COVID-19 period, the ticket fee is set double than normal for the preventive measures and now the fee is reduced than the set price for the convenience of the passengers and the commodities and goods are mainly transported because of less numbers of passengers, according to the in-charge of Doe Nyi Naung Bus service in Mong Phat.

In-charge, Doe Nyi Naung Bus Service (Mong Pyat), Aung Myat said “We reduce the ticket price more than the price set by the State Government for the convenience of the passengers during the COVID-19 period. There are less numbers of passengers and most of the people living here are the civil servants. We arrange two seats for one passenger. During this time, the travelling of passengers is less than before and we have to transport mainly the goods.”

Doe Nyi Naung and Chan Tha Aung passenger bus lines are running on Tachileik-Mong Pyat-Taunggyi trip and now Cherry Taung Tan and Shwe Taung Yoe are also operating because of the needs of the passengers. Similarly, the express lines are running on Keng Tung- Mong Pyat-Tachileik trip.
