Building Bridges: State Administration Council's Engagement in Rakhine State

Member of the State Administration Council, Dr. Ba Shwe, along with other officials, visited Nandar Yama PariyattiSarthintaik in Sittwe on Saturday to pay respect to the Patron Sayadaw and make offerings. They also extended congratulations for the recent recognition of the highest religious title bestowed upon the order on January 4th of this year.

Additionally, they discussed recent developments in Rakhine State, including armed conflicts, regional stability, and the rule of law. The Council member and party also visited PyinnyaLinkara and ShweCeti Monasteries, where they made donations and discussed the current situation in the state.

In the afternoon, the Council member and party met with representatives from Ethnic Literature and Culture Associations in Rakhine State. Dr. Ba Shwe expressed regret over the displacement of ethnic people in Rakhine State due to ongoing conflicts, emphasizing the importance of peace for implementing development projects.

He reiterated the State Administration Council's commitment to peace and intention to resolve conflicts through political means, recognizing the hardships faced by the populace due to armed conflicts. He urged attendees to share their experiences and perspectives on the recent conflicts.

Representatives from Ethnic Literature and Culture Associations presented reports detailing challenges in education, healthcare, economics, and transportation, as well as the impact of high commodity prices on the native population.

Union Minister U Min Thein Zan, Chief Minister U Htein Lin, and Deputy Ministers pledged to work towards restoring normalcy and called for collaboration from all communities. In his closing remarks, Dr. Ba Shwe thanked the attendees for their open discussion and assured them that the reports would be forwarded to the State Administration Council for further consideration and action.
